Superintendent's Message

Trust isn't given it's earned.

We continue to build relationships at Capitan schools and the community of Capitan. We are concluding our first nine weeks for the 2017-2018 school year, and we are off to a fantastic start. Our dedicated staff continues to raise rigor and academic achievement for all students.

Capitan Municipal Schools are expanding educational opportunities for all students. We are including art education for the middle school and high school curriculum. We have had an increase in our enrollment at the highest level in many years with 504 students.

Our recent August 15, 2017, school bond election was not successful, but we will continue to communicate and find ways to inform the community of the serious need for a sustainable elementary and district wide cafeteria.

Our monthly school board meetings are the third Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. if you're interested in attending or need information about Capitan schools. Please call us at (575) 354.8500, or visit us online.

You can also sign up for district wide text message by texting the word joina9gac to 810-10 or text to (412) 567.6318.

Yours in Education,

Sean M. Wootton
