Welcome to Capitan Municipal Schools.
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve the students, families, staff, and community of Capitan as your superintendent. From my very first days in the district, I have been inspired by the pride this community has in its schools, its traditions, and, most importantly, its children.
Capitan Municipal Schools has a rich history of excellence. Our students have earned statewide recognition for their academic achievement, our teachers are deeply committed to their profession, and our community has always rallied behind its schools. As we move forward together, we will honor those traditions while embracing opportunities to continuously improve.

At Capitan Municipal Schools, we believe every child deserves exceptional opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. Whether a student plans to attend a university, enter the workforce, enlist in military service, pursue a skilled trade, or continue a family ranching tradition, our responsibility is the same: to ensure they graduate prepared for a successful future.

We will provide rigorous, engaging instruction that challenges every student to reach their full potential. Through strong instructional leadership, data-informed decision making, and targeted support, we will continue improving student achievement across all grade levels.

Students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and connected. We are committed to maintaining learning environments built on respect, positive relationships, and high expectations where every student feels a sense of belonging.
Preparing Students for Life Beyond Graduation
Success looks different for every student. We will continue expanding opportunities in career and technical education, agriculture, fine arts, athletics, advanced coursework, and leadership experiences so every graduate leaves Capitan with a plan, purpose, and the skills needed for lifelong success.
Strong Community Partnerships
Our schools are strongest when families, staff, businesses, and community members work together. Open communication, mutual trust, and shared responsibility will remain at the heart of everything we do.
As superintendent, I believe leadership begins with listening. I am committed to being visible in our schools, accessible to our families, and responsive to our community. Together with our Board of Education, dedicated employees, and supportive families, we will continue building a district where students come first and excellence is the standard.
While we celebrate our accomplishments, we also recognize that excellence is not a destination—it is a continuous pursuit. Every decision we make will be guided by one simple question:
Is this in the best interest of our students?
